Surfer was painted during the time in my life when I lived in Oregon, far from the ocean, far from the ebb and flow of the tides, far from the hungry sound of waves drawing back over a pebbly beach, far from surfing. One of my earliest airbrush paintings, at the time I was interested in getting all the tech right, but I look at it now and realize it was never about the tech, it was about the child of the tides within me who slept but never left me. Original size 13 1/4" X 17".
