Pitre and Dean

John Pitre was one of my earliest art influences. Before the internet, we already knew of the depersonalization of the human race, and how it was already beginning to destroy the relationships that are so vital to our survival as a race. He wound his visual commentary into images that hid faces and figures in the shapes of his landscapes and scenery.

Roger Dean was a genius of the post-psychedelic era, showing us we didn't need chemicals to explore other worlds, we didn't need an alternate reality to stand amazed at this one. His hyper-realistic genius found its way to most of the album covers of my music, and his work still fascinates me to this day.

Pitre and Dean is a meager dedication to the genius of Roger Dean and John Pitre, where there are lakes in the sky forever feeding the Earth with life if we choose it to be so, and every stone of the Earth has a spirit, whether we wish to believe it or not.
