Cleopatra Napping

We met Cleopatra (Cleo) on a visit to the vet for the other cat that owns us, Nefertiti (Neffi.) Nefertiti never got along with other cats, but these two seemed to fit together.

We learned Cleo had been abandoned on the back porch of the clinic with her three day old kittens, too starved to run away and very nearly dead. She was welcome to a loving home but the vet requested we keep her as an inside cat.

There's something about an animal lounging in a warm space with a full belly, saved from a life of misery and death from starvation, that just demands painting. So I did.
