Modern photography has enabled us to see the mother ocean and the children of the tides who play in her as never before.
Inspired by the underwater adventures of photographer Ben Thouard of benthouard.com and his epic shot of World Surf League surfer Landon McNamara, Through the Surfing Glass is one of my favorite watercolors: I can feel the power of hundreds, thousand of tons of water drawing me into the vortex of the sunbeams shining through the glassy water, the rider's fingers dancing along the face with the gentle touch of a lover.
I get a happy feeling every time I look at it.
