I’m totally excited to announce "Warming at the Window" was accepted into the February 2017 San Diego Watercolor Society February 2017 member show! This month’s show was juried by one of my favorite watercolor landscape artists, Keiko Tanabe, and her selection of my work in this month’s show was an extra bonus.

Sometimes the greatest expressions come out of the most basic human experiences. "Warming at the Window" was painted on New Years Day, and for San Diego, it felt numbingly cold, my wife and I bundled up in heavy Oregon clothes and under blankets. I decided I needed to paint something warm and sunny, so I did.

The artists reception was just last Friday evening, and since I am still new to marketing my work, I am still testing the waters and getting to know the territory. One of the things I do at these receptions is sit at a bench in view of the painting and gauge the reactions of the patrons viewing the work. Friday revealed a huge revelation to me, I am looking at my work with new eyes. Read about this life-changing experience in my most recent blog post.

Thank you again to Keiko Tanabe and the San Diego Watercolor Society for the opportunity to share my work, I’ll be back!
